Q. How big should my water heater be?

A. There is a formula to use to determine your needs. This formula includes factors and variables that only you and your plumbing contractor (or mechanical engineer) can provide. We would be happy to send you a copy of our version of this formula.

Q. How long should I book Hydro-therapy treatments for?

A.. Time the treatments when your staff performs practice sessions and determine the average amount of time required. Be sure to include enough time for clean up and set up. Typically any combination treatment (e.g. Body Polish with Vichy Shower and Scots Hose or Therapeutic Bath with Body Wrap, etc.) is booked at 90 minutes.

Q. How long should the actual Hydro-therapy last?

A. Tub: Maximum time is 30 minutes, maximum temperature is 104 degrees F. Always respect a client’s desire to stop the treatment earlier. Typically a tub treatment will not exceed 20 minutes. Vichy Shower: By itself is 10-12 minutes, maximum temperature is 104 degrees F. Vichy Shower with Scots Hose: Total of 15 minutes split equally between the Scots Hose and then the Vichy Shower.

Q.Will my contractor know how to install this?

A.We provide very clear, easy to follow rough-in and installation instructions. All REID installations involve very basic plumbing easily within the grasp of any competent contractor.

Q. How do we learn to use our new equipment? What treatments can we do?

A. Training on site is available from Spa Central by calling 1-800-350-2799.

Q.. How much space will the equipment take up?

A. Please refer to our room layout drawings.

Q. Can you explain to me the difference between the REID Systems hydro tubs and other hydro tubs on the market?

A.Versatility. The REiD Systems Zephyr and Aquarian easily convert from a tub into a wet treatment or massage table with the REID Aqua-Top. Easy Operation. Unlike other tubs, the REID Zephyr and Aquarian tubs are designed to be turned on and left to run. They simply are not as complicated as the larger, more expensive tubs. They don’t offer all of their features, but they don’t cost as much either. Air jets vs. water/air jets. The REID tubs are air jet only tubs. They offer the bubbling turbulence that the larger air/water tubs offer but without the recirculating action of the water jets. No sanitation issues. The REiD tubs are completely sealed units. The tub is filled, the air jets turned on, and when the treatment is finished, the tub is drained. You clean them basically the same way you clean your own bathtub. They are designed to handle anything. Put as much product as you want in them. They’re perfect for high concentrations of salts, muds, seaweed, or any other spa product.

Q. If I can only have one, which would you recommend, a Vichy Shower or a Hydrotherapy Tub?

A. If it comes down to one or the other, we recommend a Vichy Shower, simply because it is the most versatile piece of Hydrotherapy equipment. You can perform many different services using a Vichy Shower, they are less expensive than Hydrotherapy tubs and you have more retail opportunities based on the type of services a Vichy Shower can offer.

Q. Explain the difference between the Cascade and the Torrent?

A. The Torrent is the grand poobah of Vichy Showers. With 7 heads and a Scots Hose, the Torrent is actually two pieces of Hydrotherapy equipment in one. The Torrent mounts on the ceiling and, unlike most other showers on the market, allows the therapist to maneuver around all four sides of the table. The Cascade is a more traditional wall mounted shower system with a pivoting arm, five shower heads, and a hand held hose for rising the body after treatments. The shower heads on the Torrent are the most precise available on the market.

Q. Does REID systems have a warranty on all parts? How does that compare to the competition?

A. REID Systems has a 5 year warranty on all parts. The competition has 1-5 year warranties, but when you read the fine print, you find that the individual parts prevail. So, if they use showerheads with a one year warranty, then that is what you get.

Q. Does any other manufacturers of hydrotherapy equipment use all stainless steel or self cleaning commercial grade shower heads?

A. No other manufacturer of Hydrotherapy uses all stainless steel or self cleaning commercial grade shower heads.

Answers for showers:
Warranty, REID is the only manufacturer of hydrotherapy equipment that offers a full 5 year warranty on all parts. Other manufacturers might say they offer a 5 year warranty, but if you check the fine print, their warranty is superseded by the manufacturer's warranty of each individual part. So if the mixing valve or showerhead has a 1 year warranty, their warranty turns into 1 year as well for that part. REID Systems is the only manufacturer to use only stainless steel and chrome plated brass parts that are commercial grade and intended for professional use. There is no plastic or enamel used in any of the working parts. REID System's shower heads are commercial grade self cleaning, designed for frequent, heavy use. Each shower head assembly comes with a volume control to adjust water pressure independently on each head with positive shut off to guarantee drip-free heads.j

Answer for tubs:
Comparing REID Tubs to any other tub on the market would be like comparing apples to oranges. All other tubs on the market use both water jet (Jacuzzi style) and or jet technology. The REID Aquarian tub uses just air technology. What does this mean? Other tubs on the market, ranging in price from $20,000 to $40,000, have both water jets and air jets in the tub. These offer the client more features but:

  • Offer little versatility.
  • Are labor intensive to operate.
  • Can cause problems with sanitation issues.
  • Are very temperamental.
  • Have difficulty handling products.

Q. Why don’t you put a hand held jet on the Zephyr and Aquarian?

A. The Zephyr and Aquarian are unique in that they are air-powered only. It would require a separate pump and recirculation system to power a hand jet. We choose to retain our air-only technology for several reasons.

  1. To maintain the high level of satisfaction that only an air powered tub can provide - no recirculating water means no residual contaminated water left in pipes from previous treatments.
  2. Air-powered tubs can be used with any spa product at extremely high concentrations with no danger of clogging and/or burning out the pump.
  3. Why pay for a feature that we’ve found very few facilities actually utilize?
  4. To help keep the Zephyr and Aquarian as the most affordable professional tubs available.
